It’s official, the Texas summer has begun! The start of summer also starts the countdown for the arrival of baby Roebuck #3. I’m a little unsure of what my fall will look like, with a newborn at home. I’m slightly terrified when the thought of “busy season” enters my mind. So, I do what any procrastinator does…I push it waaaaay to the back 😉

I wanted to get in one more mini session before baby, but knew that an outdoor mini in July was out of the question. 8-9 months pregnant…Texas in July…NO WAY!

Thanks to the super sweet and uber talented Michelle Monk Photography, (as well as the great Sabrina Gebhardt Photography for hooking us up!) I was able to book this space for my summer mini session! Can I get an AMEN?! It’s an old space, and she warned that it can get a little toasty, but it’s indoors and out of the sweltering Texas sun. AMEN!

July may seem a bit early to be thinking about holiday pictures, but with the uncertainty of my fall schedule, I’m hoping that my tried and true repeat clients might consider this for their holiday session. Not to mention, its the perfect setup for those sweet milestones! 6mo, 1 year, 2 year summer portraits are way more enjoyable in the AC 🙂

It took us a while to get it done but when the rain stopped briefly one afternoon, we made a go at it! I’m so glad we did because this sweet little one was a total DOLL! 6 month shoots are definitely a favorite of mine. You get the best interaction, smiles, giggles…and they aren’t quite mobile yet 😉 Baby A did NOT disappoint! We braved a few mosquito bites, but the outcome was well worth it.

May has been the month of the newborn for HRP! Unfortunately, it has also been the month of record breaking rainfall for Texas. Aside from my crazy fall schedule, May is always one of my busiest months. People have recovered from the holidays…the grass is green…the flowers are blooming. It’s the calm before the nasty Texas heat! May has been a challenge with reschedules, but it’s almost over and I’ve managed to survive it 🙂

On to sweet baby Chase! This little guy was a dream to photograph. Other than one or two milk breaks, he snoozed away like a champ! Big sis definitely kept me busy while baby brother filled his tummy 🙂

I’m so excited to have the 2nd HRP glam event in the works! I recently did a glam shoot for some special ladies that competed in a fitness challenge. The winner received a free session while the others joined in on the fun! We shot at the AMAZING Rosen House Inn in the historical Fairmount neighborhood. The light was dreamy and made for some beautiful images! I was reminded of how much I enjoyed these types of shoots and knew that I needed to get another event on the books. As a mommy of 2, soon to be 3, I’m all too familiar with the rat race of every day. We follow the motions, do what we do (which is EVERYTHING), and rarely find time to let our hair down and celebrate US! These types of shoots can be a little intimidating. If you have thought about it in the past and always find an excuse not to do it, I encourage you to take the leap and JUST DO IT! 99% of us can find something about our bodies that we are unhappy with. Enough with the phrase “I’d love to do it but I’m not happy with…” Embrace it!

With both glam sessions, I have had groups of 2 or more friends come together. It was a blast…for us all! Lots of laughter and fun, resulted in stunning images of some stunning mamas! With that being said, if you and a friend book together you will save $50 each. 1 hour for $500 instead of $600. If you are interested in booking with a friend, do it NOW! As slots fill up, an hour slot will be gone quick.

After J&E’s killer maternity shoot (see that here), I knew that baby H’s newborn session could not possibly disappoint. Mom is an interior designer with impeccable taste, and not to mention…those are some good looking genes running through those veins!

I always go into a newborn shoot with excitement  and some nerves. You never know what you’re going to walk into. I’ve shot almost an entire session in a kitchen due to that being the only natural light available in the house. Then there are times that I walk through the door and the nerves subside and are replaced with extra excitement! That was the case with this one! The light and nursery were swoon worthy and baby H, after some heavy convincing, slept like a dream 🙂

Mom really wanted to get this shot! Little man was not feeling the sleep vibe and daddy was needing to get back to work. We went for it and it all aligned for the WIN 😉
